About njlisamd

Supposedly, I am recognized as one of the country's most insightful and outspoken voices on Gender-Variant Medicine. Admittedly, I give many lectures at a wide variety of venues - from Keynoting at The Minnesota and Philadelphia TransHealth Conferences; Capstone Speaker at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ Sex Week; colleges/universities, grammar schools to local libraries. My stance on Informed Consent versus the Standards of Care continues to shake up traditional thinking and marks me as both a target and an open-minded and flexible therapist/physician. At the forefront of diagnosing and treating gender-variant clients, clinicians in 49 of the 50 United States have sought my expertise. (Anyone have relatives in Hawaii?) Having clinicians from several countries seek my guidance, it is safe to say I'm becoming an acknowledged international authority on the topic. What else? I am a board certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and board certified and Diplomat in The American Academy of Family Physicians, and a master-level practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming. My solo practice is in New Jersey with a multi-cultural clientele. I am a member of The Academy for Professional Speakers, and as a member of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, I am also a Kink Aware Provider. More? OK. I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, The World Association for Sexual Health, Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, advisor for the ad-hoc committee on DADT on Transgender issues, and a member of the NJ Safe Schools Program. Since becoming a specialist in Gender-Variant Medicine, I've been featured in periodicals dedicated to the LGBT community such as OutServe, Tapestry, Frock, New Jersey Pride Guide, and New Jersey Gaze.

After having my long blonde tresses done at the hair salon, this intrepid coward, boldly buys a timid sandwich, and is read!  Not as a proud member of the LGBTQIGQ Nation, several letters of which apply, but as being military!  … Continue reading

Where’s the Sex/Gender?

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, Boston’s police Department had no problems leaving sex/gender out of their description of people.                                            (Although I do feel bad for the schlep who had to take all the measurements … Continue reading
